Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 315-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Systems Analyst monitors all Patient Access staff through formalized daily, weekly and monthly Quality Assurance audits, in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.  This position provides Patient Access Services with direction on departmental requirements on Quality Assurance and develops methodologies of measurements, implements controls and reports audit outcomes to key stakeholders. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works in electronic systems to track accuracy and productivity
  • Maintains documentation on audit findings and is responsible for following up on corrective action plans and areas of nonconformance
  • Analyzes and evaluates proposed or existing systems. Creates testing scripts for end user testing
  • Diagnoses, corrects and prevents application errors on end-users
  • Designs, implements and/or modifies the application QA rules
  • Assists and instructs end user problems and develops plans to prevent reoccurrence of problems
  • Helps parse ADT and interface messages to identify root cause of issues with portal data integrity
  • Works with vendor to coordinate testing, training and implementation of new functionalities and version upgrades
  • Manages all access to application
  • Provides Patient Access Services with direction on departmental requirements on Quality Assurance. Develops methodologies of measurements, implements controls and reports audit outcomes to key stakeholders
  • Adjusts outcomes and continuously refines processes to improve services
  • Provides feedback to end users on findings and helps ensure corrections
  • Helps train all newly hired staff on work processes and quality monitors and controls
  • Assesses learner performance through evaluative processes
  • Monitors all Patient Access staff through formalized daily/weekly and monthly Quality Assurance audits, in compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Creates and distributes findings to PAS and Revenue Cycle Management teams
  • Follows up on training activities that occur in Patient Access. Provides continuing education sessions for all Patient Access staff
  • Maintains responsibility for consistent, timely, and accurate monitoring, validation and feedback of the staff performance to the Patient Access Management team
  • Communicates with management team to optimize departmental productivity and standards for continuous quality improvement with compliance of all Federal and State regulatory guidelines and Joint Commission requirements
  • Assists with written reports and statistics on the performance of staff for use in evaluations and to determine departmental education needs
  • Monitors daily reports to ensure accuracy of patient registrations as it relates to insurance coverage, correct demographics, coordination of benefits, document imaging, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with the department management staff to provide input on staff performance and training needs or modifications
  • Creates documents on different workflows and processes. Identifies quality control check points and helps place monitors.
  • Invests in a formal definition of a quality assurance methodology. Works proactively to design, redesign, enhance and deploy processes to better serve our core services

REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's degree in Business, Information Technology, Multi Media or related field  and two (2) years of related work experience in computer systems support, multi media, product support, education or quality control; OR four (4) years equivalent work experience.
