Position Summary:

This full-time position is responsible for organizing and providing epidemiologic support to the position’s assigned departments within MCPHD and to collaborating organizations, including:

  • Prioritizing projects and tasks to best address the departments’ needs and fulfill the agency’s mission.
  • Conducting literature reviews, developing knowledge about the health issued addressed be the assigned departments.
  • Assist with designing, conducting, and interpreting statistical analyses
  • Practice data management techniques using SAS
  • Preparing and delivering reports and presentations on health issues and statistics for professional and lay audiences
  • Collaborating with MCPHD staff and other organizations to assure the success of programs and projects.

This position is grant funded.


To qualify, graduate students enrolled in public health should have completed the following before the internship begins:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Introduction to Epidemiology
  • Social & Behavioral Science in Public Health
  • Biostatistics 1
  • Experience with SAS or other coding languages
  • Experience with report writing
