Job Description


The Culinary Services Associate is responsible for preparing food and serving to guests, while delivering excellent customer service at all times. In addition to, the Culinary Services Associate will monitor food for defects, maintain appropriate sanitation levels in the work area and follow proper safety procedures when handling kitchen equipment.



  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to withstand sudden temperature changes from heat of kitchen to cold of the freezers
  • Ability to safely transports hot pans from range or oven to steam stable and is able to maneuver within the kitchen and walk-in freezer and cooler
  • Demonstrates proper use of equipment
  • Ability to follow infection control policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow all Food and Nutrition Services policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Knowledge of modified and  mechanically altered diets served
  • Ability to use age appropriate communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional, courteous manner with food service staff and other hospital wide staff
