Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

Supervisor IS Project Manager will lead the Project Management team in project process improvements, portfolio governance, and team leadership. They will serve as the consolidated point of accountability, communication, and coordination for all activity within the Project Management team. In addition, they will act as a Project Manager to drive setup, execution, and closeout of Eskenazi Health projects of various scales.  
The Supervisor leads a team of project managers, who work together to continually develop and optimize the overall IS/IT Project processes.  

The Supervisor cultivates and manages the Project Management Team to ensure IS/IT projects meet organizational goals and requirements. They implement and provide guidance related to Project Management processes and policies. The position is focused on talent development and resource management with an emphasis on collaboration with other IS Solutions teams to meet the organizational needs.

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that: 
•    The facilitation of the project planning is efficient and complete by managing incoming demand that it is being properly documented. And ensuring resource planning is being properly considered.  
•    Managing of the Portfolio Planning process in IS Solutions. Improving the information and data presented to the Project Governance Committee allowing them to effectively make decisions on the work to be performed by the IS/IT Teams.
•    Improving project management processes to grow the IS/IT Organizations maturity in Project Management.
•    Ensure proper project documentation through all phases of project
•    Oversee day to day activities by assigning work, follow ups with team and IS/IT participants, mentoring  PMs and other team members
•    Standardize the analysis of project financial information for IS Projects based on Capital approvals as compared to actuals.
•    Collaboration with IS Solutions leadership team, IT leadership team, purchasing, key business leaders and others as required. Overall, be a single point of contact for leaders to come to for Project questions.
•    In addition, act as a Project Manager to deliver successful projects of various sizes

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

•    Continually improves the alignment and strength of the PM team.
•    Directs and supervises operations of assigned staff 
•    Works collaboratively with other Information Services and Operations leaders to strengthen and improve processes. 
•    Ensures project processes
•    Creates and carries out team/staff development plans.
•    Recruits, interviews, and hires new team members.
•    Tracks team effort and team productivity within the Eskenazi Health service management system.
•    Manages projects and adheres to project process standards.
•    Administers team payroll.
•    Carries out team performance reviews.
•    Works collaboratively with other Operations and Information Services leaders, managers, and staff to strengthen the overall performance of Eskenazi Health information services and to build service management capabilities.

Job Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or the equivalent in other experience and/or certification
•    PMI or similar certification, Scrum Master certification; degree in project management, or business with a  concentration in project management may be accepted in lieu of certification
•    Proficiency with stakeholder management, service improvement, and requirements engineering/analysis best practices
•    Experience using common project and portfolio management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Primavera, ServiceNow, etc.
•    Familiarity with service management processes relevant to project management: Release Management, Change Management, Transition Planning and Support, Continual Service Improvement, etc.
•    At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects.
•    And at least 3 year of experience in healthcare organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•    Awareness of current project management solutions, services, and systems. The incumbent will have the ability to stay abreast of, constructively evaluate, and incorporate leading industry practices in real time.
•    Ability to develop and continually improve high-performance teams. The incumbent will be well versed in team building/management/improvement practices.
•    Ability to direct staff to deliver consistent solution development performance across a range of technologies in support of health system needs. The incumbent will fundamentally have a 'service mentality' and will and be well versed in design and development management best practices.
•    Ability to cultivate, utilize, and improve data relevant to development productivity and quality. The incumbent will understand and be able to guide development of processes and supporting tooling which support generation of useful data. The incumbent will also understand and be experienced in using data to gauge performance, structure meetings, drive management interactions, support recommendations, and to guide decisions.
•    Ability to drive ongoing improvements in operational efficiency. The incumbent will be experienced in the usage of processes, tool improvements, knowledge improvements, job aids, etc. as a means of continually improving staff productivity.
•    Ability to productively engage staff, customers, stakeholders, and partners at all levels.  The incumbent will be able to effectively coordinate project participation across a diversity of roles both within and beyond Eskenazi Health
•    Ability to manage multiple project efforts and deliver based on established project process. The incumbent will be asked to work project efforts and successfully deliver the projects of all scales and complexities.
