Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

The Director, Compliance Long Term Care (LTC) is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization-wide risk assessment plan for the Long Term Care Division of Health and Hospital Corporation (HHC).   This individual leads the overall direction and management of compliance oversight including implementing education and training, resources, as well as initiating compliance projects to insure organizational integrity.  The position supports the Chief Compliance Officer and senior leadership in fulfilling her/his oversight role by providing independent assessments of the LTC operations, comparing those to regulatory requirements, and implementing plans to address gap areas identified.  The Director, Compliance Long Term Care works in collaboration with the chief compliance officer of American Senior Communities (ASC) the management partner for this Division.

• Promote a culture of compliance across HHC with a focus on its long term care facilities, including education and training, serving as a compliance expert resource, and providing direction and assistance to compliance team members as needed.
• Provide insight into the risk assessment plan for long term care services in order to support the organization’s objectives and governance policies.
• Oversee the execution of risk-based audit plans to assess controls, operational efficiencies and compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.  
• Increase communications with a broader scope of stakeholders, developing and fostering strong relationships with senior management across the organization, leading discussions and projects to identify and mitigate compliance issues in their area.
• Interpret federal and state regulations and compare to current operations and practices, developing policies and plans to comply with regulations and address risk areas identified.
• Promptly investigate reports of non-compliance or suspected violations of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as deemed appropriate in collaboration with ASC’s compliance officer.
• Establishes methods to improve compliance oversight of ASC’s third party vendors, including review of their compliance programs, fraud, waste and abuse training, screening processes, among others.
• Collaborate with members of the Office of Corporate Compliance, as part of the compliance team, to share expertise and experience in building a culture of compliance across the organization.
• Remains current on federal and state regulations related to long term care services and particularly the testing, auditing, and reporting requirements pursuant to the Covid-19 pandemic.

•    Master’s degree in health services, or JD required.
•    Minimum of five years of experience working in health services or related field.
•    Three to five years of experience with conducting investigations to determine regulatory compliance.
