Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Compensation Analyst studies and analyzes external market data and assists in preparing job descriptions. Participates in various compensation surveys.   Assists in the administration of various compensation programs. Assists with various audits within the department. Assists Compensation/HRIS Manager and Compensation Consultant on various projects.   

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Participates in salary surveys, analyzes market data and trends to ensure market competitiveness.  Compile data for compensation survey submissions
  • Assists with developing and editing job descriptions assuring compliance with various standards and regulations; reviews and updates job descriptions upon request
  • Track compensation metrics for human resources dashboard.  Maintains HR metrics, and other requested data while working directly with the HRIS team.
  • Maintain and audit job titles, job codes, and other job related attributes in the HRIS system
  • Maintains centralized job description database by uploading new descriptions and removing duplicates and outdated material
  • Maintain compensation inbox ensuring  inquiries and requests are addressed timely
  • Assists with market pricing schedule as needed
  • Supports organization by researching and responding to questions, interpreting policies, and otherwise assisting with compensation-related issues
  • Assists with conducting job evaluations for new positions to determine appropriate salary grade; evaluates and analyzes market data, determines FLSA status, and maintains appropriate documentation regarding the review
  • Assists in the annual performance appraisal preparation and process 
  • Assist with career path development, helping to clarify the growth in jobs from one level to another based on responsibilities, scope, impact, required skills and knowledge
  • Participates with strategic and routine projects of varying scales including system enhancements and implementations of new releases
  • Assists Talent Acquisition team with matters and inquiries pertaining to compensation guidelines and practices
  • Works closely with HRIS Analyst and Consultants with data entered into SuccessFactors and coordinates data processing of workflows and testing of system changes
  • Addresses and troubleshoots HRIS configuration issues and data file feeds.
  • Works closely with Talent Acquisition in determining appropriate pay for non-exempt new hire and transfer positions.
  • Assists Talent Acquisition team with matters and inquiries pertaining to compensation guidelines and practices

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ human resources experience required; OR Three (3) years of experience in Human Resources, with demonstrable knowledge of Compensation and HRIS systems and processes in healthcare may be accepted in lieu of degree.

  • Market pricing and survey submission experience strongly preferred 
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or CCP is preferred
