Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Centers , Indiana’s first community mental health center has a philosophy of care that stresses strength-based, community centered treatment that utilizes the recovery model and welcomes all patients from children to seniors. 

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center’s Kathi & Bob Postlethwait Mental Health Recovery Center is a 24-hour short-term protective care service for persons experiencing mental illness. The population we serve is  Adults - 18 years or older which operates  24 hours per day - 7 days a week

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Kathi & Bob Postlethwait Mental Health Recovery Center is seeking a Client Service Coordinator performs secretarial/quasi-administrative duties as support to clinical staff in a mental health treatment environment.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs secretarial/quasi-administrative duties as support to clinical staff in a mental health treatment environment.
  • Monitors mental health client/visitor behavior in waiting area and notifies appropriate staff according to proper procedures.
  • Greets and directs visitors, consumers, and customers to appropriate person or area.
  • Answers telephone calls in a courteous and welcoming manner.
  • Interviews new consumers to obtain required demographic and financial information.
  • Responds to client’s billing inquiries.
  • Directs the flow of incoming information; routes in –coming and out-going mail.
  • Assures accurate information is entered into the computer information system; collects and enters data for enrollment of consumer into the Hoosier Assurance Plan.
  • Monitors and processes Medicaid Prior Approvals; assures that Medicaid and other insurance eligibility is verified at each visit.
  • Complete Medicaid applications for the Children’s Health Initiative Plan (Children’s only).
  • Prepares and maintains client chart; maintains filing system according to established procedures.
  • Collects client fees; issues receipts; forwards monies; prepares billing information.
  • Assists supervisor to compile/assemble date for confidential/statistical reports.
  • Types correspondence, use of spreadsheets and applications.
  • Schedule and cancel appointments.



ASSOCIATED JOB DUTIES:

  • Provides consumers/families information regarding Wishard Advantage Program.
  • Sorts progress notes and clinical records for Midtown record department.
  • Maintain office inventory; submit request for supplies, as required.
  • Responds to crisis calls and complaints by routing these to the appropriate staff.
  • Works with Continuous Quality Improvement teams as assigned.
  • Assists in the collection of outcome monitors.
  • Collects cash co-pays from clients.
  • Processes cash collection receipts for Cash Collections Manager.
  • May complete environmental rounds on the unit and report repairs and safety issues to the appropriate personnel; follows-up with reports to ensure completion.
  • Record and compile refrigerator temperature log.
  • Record and compile environmental status control log.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned or as necessary to maintain adequate support for clinic.
  • May provide transportation.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education; post-secondary and/or college level education; training on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; clerical/accounting principles.
  • 1-year clerical/administrative responsibilities.
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
